Gravel Switch teen wounded in shooting

LEBANON - A 13-year-old boy was wounded Sunday afternoon, and an 18-year-old man has been charged, state police said.

The boy was taken to Spring View Hospital in Lebanon for treatment of a single gunshot wound to the abdomen with a .22-caliber rifle. He was later airlifted to Norton's Hospital in Louisville, where he is listed in stable condition, according to a report by Trooper Laura Isenberg.

Billy Tate Jr., also of Gravel Switch, has been charged with first-degree assault and lodged in the Marion County Detention Center.

The case is still under investigation.
