Al Smith to speak

tonight at Centre

Kentucky journalist Al Smith will give this year's Centre College Distinguished Press Lecture at 7:30 p.m. today in Weisiger Theatre on campus. He will speak on "Presswork in Kentucky: Pistols, Preachers and Politicians." The lecture is free. The day was incorrect in an advertisement Sunday.

UK alumni plan

annual meeting

Boyle County University of Kentucky Alumni Association will host its annual fall meeting Nov. 18 at Danville Country Club. The social is at 6 p.m. with dinner at 6:30 p.m. The cost is $30. All alumni and friends of UK are welcome. Reservations are required and can be made by contacting Don Vizi, president of the Boyle County UK Alumni Association, at (859) 583-6913.

The banquet is a fund-raiser for scholarships for two students from Boyle County to attend UK. Anyone who is unable to attend the banquet and would like to donate $50 for the scholarship fund, send checks made out to the Danville-Boyle County UK Alumni Association to Beverly Durham at 195 Waterworks Road, Danville 40422.



Casey County Hospital Board of Trustees - 7 p.m. today in the hospital meeting room. The agenda includes consideration of the financial statement, bids on a CT scanner, hospital bylaws, employee handbook and administrator's report.|None***
