Dunnville man charged with attempted murder

LIBERTY - A Dunnville man was indicted Monday on attempted murder and other charges after an incident involving a man and a truck, according to documents in Casey Circuit Clerk's Craig Overstreet's office.

George Garrett, 43, U.S. 127, was charged with criminal attempt to commit murder, second-degree criminal mischief and second-degree assault.

He is accused of shooting at Craig Price with a firearm in an attempt to kill Price.

The alleged shooting occurred Oct. 25, the same day that Garrett was accused of damaging a radiator and grill on Price's 1998 Dodge pickup by intentionally firing a .22-caliber pistol at the vehicle and causing more than $500 in damages.

Garrett also is accused of assault after he allegedly caused Price's foot to be caught in the door of the vehicle by slamming it.

Also indicted were:

* David L. Coffman, 23, Harper Valley Trailer Park Lot 17, Liberty, second-degree assault, first-degree wanton endangerment and tampering with physical evidence. He is accused of intentionally shooting 4-year-old Cody W. Vest in the head with a BB gun Oct. 16 and causing serious injuries to the boy. Coffman also allegedly attempted to destroy, mutilate, conceal, remove or alter physical evidence.


* Spencer Martin Rhinehart, 19, 7670 Danville Pike, Hustonville, third-degree terroristic threatening; receiving stolen property; theft by unlawful taking or disposition less than $300; and giving a police officer a false name and address. He is accused of threatening Casey County Deputy Sheriff Chad Weddle with physical injury. Rhinehart also is accused of taking a 1992 Oldsmobile from his parents, knowing that the vehicle had been stolen, and taking gasoline and other personal property Oct. 24 from Dogwalk Market in Dunnville.

* Frankie Ray Posey II, 37, 3575 Woodrum Ridge Road, Liberty, fourth-degree assault, first-degree wanton endangerment, possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance not in proper container. He is accused of assaulting Misty Bernard Oct. 31 and injuring her. He allegedly created a substantial danger of death or serious physical injury to Bernard when he chased her or another person with a shotgun pointed in her direction.

* Jimmy Dale Robbins, 20, Liberty, first-degree burglary and theft by unlawful taking less than $300. He is accused of entering Buis Grocery Oct. 31 with intent to commit a crime while he and another participant were armed with a deadly weapon. He is accused of taking eight cartons of cigarettes from the store.

* Donald Dean Crosier, 29, 2962 Poplar Hill Road, Liberty, theft by unlawful taking or disposition and first-degree persistent felony offender. He is accused of taking a 1997 Plymouth Neon and other personal items from Franz L. Sheene Jr. The items were valued at more than $300.

* Gregory J. Sallee, 24, 212 Montgomery St., Liberty, first-degree criminal mischief. He is accused of damaging three windows, a door and wall of a building owned by J.R. Grant Sept. 27 by kicking and hitting the building. More than $1,000 in damages were reported.

* Mark Sharp, age and address unavailable, second-degree arson. He is accused of starting a fire Feb. 21 and causing an explosion in a residence to collect or facilitate the collection of insurance.

* Misty Dawn Hatter, 27, address unavailable, second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument. She is accused of giving a forged check drawn Dec. 15, 2002, on the account of Edwina Reams and passed at Discount Tobacco Shed.

Those indicted will be arraigned at 1 p.m. Nov. 24 in Casey Circuit Court.
