STANFORD - The gun used in the shooting of Robert Muse, 38, of 640 Shake Rag Road, Waynesburg, on Wednesday night is still being sought by police, reported Christopher Lanham, public information officer at the Richmond state police post.

Two people remain in custody, charged with first-degree assault, after Muse was shot once in the facial cheek.

According to police reports, Lori Ann Phelps, 32, of 640 Shake Rag Road, and Jon T. Edwards, 27, of Ky. 34, Mitchellsburg, were arrested after state troopers responded to reports of a shooting at 1542 U.S. 27 South.

Muse was transported by helicopter to the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center. Lanham reported that Muse was discharged from the hospital Thursday night.

"He's very lucky to be alive," said Lanham.

Lanham would not release any information regarding what type of gun was used, except to say the weapon used in the shooting had yet to be recovered.

"I personally spent three hours looking for the weapon," said Lanham.

Lincoln County dispatchers declined to provide further information, citing on-going investigation by state police.

Bonds have been set at $25,000 for Phelps and $10,000 for Edwards at the Lincoln County Regional Jail.

State police Detective Chris Crockett is in charge of the investigation.
