Clifford A. Lancaster

Clifford A. "Tony" Lancaster, 57, of Newark, Ohio, died Wednesday at his home.

Born Feb. 6, 1947, in Albany, he was the son of the late Everhart and Mattie Lee Lancaster.

He was an employee of Arvin Meritor/Rockwell International, an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a graduate of Danville High School.

He was a member of First Baptist Church and Rider Association Motorcycle Club.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Lancaster; four daughters, DJakarta Ellis, Angela Taul, and Tara and Shawn Lancaster, all of Lexington; a stepdaughter, E'Leana Stirtmire of Las Vegas, Nev.; a sister, Mary Butler of Fairfax, Va.; and seven grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church by the Rev. Richard Hill.

Burial will be in Hilldale Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Samuel Meaux, Otis Ford, Jerry Jones, Judson Singleton and Joe Logan.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday.


Orville P. Byrd

LAWRENCEBURG - Orville Preston Byrd, 47, of Lawrenceburg, died Thursday at his home.

Born Aug. 5, 1956, in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Ralph and Laura Bell Gibbons Byrd.

He was former janitorial foreman with the state Department of Finance and a member of Golden Pathway Fellowship.

Survivors include five sisters, Margaret Gay, Nancy Maddox, Ida Matherly and Peggy Byrd, all of Lawrenceburg, and Virginia Lear of Danville; and three brothers, Ben Byrd and Dean Byrd, both of Lawrenceburg, and Chester Byrd of Frankfort.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home by Donald Lear and Joe Gay.

Burial will be in Wynn Cemetery, Rockcastle County.

Visitation is after 10 a.m. Saturday.

Jason S. Dalton

LIBERTY - Jason Scott Dalton, 30, of Liberty, died Thursday in Casey County.

Arrangements are incomplete at Bartle Funeral Home.

Thelma G. Floyd

NICHOLASVILLE - Thelma Geneva Floyd, 73, of Nicholasville, died Wednesday.

Born in Crab Orchard, she was the daughter of the late Dudley D. and Louisa Muncie Shelton.

She was a former employee of Canada Dry Distillery and a retired employee of Sargent & Greenleaf Co.

She was a member of Nicholasville Baptist Church, Jessamine County Woman's Club and attended Liberty Prayer Group in Garrard County.

Survivors include two sons, Charles N. Floyd and Paul Douglas Floyd, both of Nicholasville; two sisters, Lela M. Bishop and Dora Bruner, both of Nicholasville; four brothers, Philip Shelton of Crab Orchard, Lawrence Shelton of Cincinnati, Larkin Shelton of Milan, Ohio, and Billy Shelton of Louisville; and two half sisters, Grace Payne and Beatrice Zinser.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Betts & West Funeral Home by the Rev. Jim Lyons.

Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.

Visitation is 2-9 p.m. today.

Martha W. Messer

STANFORD - Martha Wrenn Messer, 87, of Loudon, Tenn., died Wednesday at Fort Sanders Park West Hospital.

Born Jan 15, 1916, in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late A.L. and Serina Reynolds Wrenn.

She was a homemaker, a member of Loudon First Baptist Church and the widow of Henry Messer.

Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Bladen of Loudon; two sons, Levi Messer of Waynesburg and Joseph Messer of LaGrange, Ga.; and a stepdaughter, Marjorie Scott of Stanford.

Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Ephesus Baptist Church, Ottenheim.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be 2:30-3 p.m. Saturday at the church.

Spurlin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.


Wilmer Carey

Services for Wilmer "Bill" Carey, 92, of Spring Hill Road, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church by the Revs. Tim Mathis and Jerry Lester.

Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.

He died Wednesday at his home.

Pallbearers will be Brian Hogue, Bud Jeffries, Hank Marcussan, J.R. Carey, Johnny Jordan and Jerry Hogue.

Honorary pallbearers are members of Andrew Sunday School Class.

Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at Stith Funeral Home.

Memorials may go to First Baptist Church building fund or Heritage Hospice.

Beatrice H. Coffman

MORELAND - Services for Beatrice Hatter Coffman, 83, of Geneva, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Geneva Baptist Church by the Rev. Mike Hatter.

Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery.

She died Wednesday at Fort Logan Hospital.

Pallbearers will be Brian and Kenny Coffman, Larry and David Lynn and David Payton.

Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. today at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Stella Simpson

HARRODSBURG - Services for Stella Ann Simpson, 58, of Harrodsburg, will be 1 p.m. Sunday at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home by Jack Guerin.

Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

She died Wednesday at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.

Born Sept. 13, 1945, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late William E. West and Dorothy Harrison West Reed.

She was a former Mercer Dress Co. employee and a sitter for the elderly.

Survivors include her husband, Billy Jay Simpson; stepfather, James E. Reed of Burgin; three sons, Darrell E. Followell of Burgin, William S. Followell of Perryville, and Travis L. Simpson of Harrodsburg; two brothers, J.W. West of Nancy and Howard West of Burgin; two half sisters, Maxine Wilson and Darlene Lister, both of Danville; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jeff West, Steven Reed, Les and Wes Simpson, and Terry and Jamie Holt.

Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Saturday and after 7 a.m. Sunday.
