Harry F. Fitzpatrick

Harry Fox Fitzpatrick, 90, formerly of Pleasantwood Drive, died Saturday at Charleston Health Care Center.

Born Sept. 10, 1913, in Hedgeville, he was the son of the late Farris F. and Zora Rankin Fitzpatrick.

He was an algebra teacher at Danville High School from 1937-1976 and served as football and basketball coach. He also was a farmer.

He was a 1933 graduate of Danville High School and a graduate of Centre College, played basketball and football at DHS and Centre, was named an All-South player and received numerous other awards.

He was a member of Lexington Avenue Baptist Church and the widower of Elizabeth Coleman Fitzpatrick.

Survivors include nieces and nephews, including Harvey D. Fitzpatrick, Charles Renfro, Bobby G. Holtzclaw and Betty Holtzclaw, all of Danville.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Stith Funeral Home by the Rev. Tommy Valentine.

Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.


Visitation is 4-6 p.m. today and 10-11 a.m. Tuesday.

Memorials may go to Heritage Hospice or A Closer Walk at Lexington Avenue Baptist Church.

David H. Dearinger

HARRODSBURG - David Harold Dearinger, 78, of Fairview Court, died Saturday at St. Joseph Hospital.

Born Nov. 5, 1925, in Salvisa, he was the son of the late David B. and Staddie L. Springate Dearinger.

He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a retired barber and a member of Harrodsburg Baptist Church, the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was an award-winning embroiderer.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Jean Carr Dearinger; three daughters, Margaret Ann Dearinger and Patricia S. Rawlings, both of Harrodsburg, and Staddie McGuire of Berea; a brother, James V. Dearinger of Danville; a stepson, Tony Sexton of Harrodsburg; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel by the Revs. Richard Easterling, Robert DeFoor and Rick Snyder.

Burial will be in Hopewell Baptist Cemetery with military rites.

Pallbearers will be David Dearinger, David Darland, Mike and Adam Turner, Brian Kedrick and Herman Ward.

Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Monday and prior to the service Tuesday.

Memorials may go to Harrodsburg Baptist Church activity center or a favorite charity.

Doris R. Hardwick

LANCASTER - Doris Rose "Pete" Hardwick, 76, of Hill-n-Dale Drive, died Sunday at Garrard County Long Term Care Facility.

Born May 21, 1927, in Garrard County, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Mary Doolin Montgomery.

She was a seamstress, retired from Palm Beach Co., and a member of Lancaster Baptist Church. She was the widow of Leland Hardwick Jr.

Survivors include two sisters, Margaret Hughes and Louella Scott, both of Garrard County; and two brothers, James and Kenneth Montgomery, both of Garrard County.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ramsey Funeral Home by the Rev. Everett Priddy. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ryan, Robbie, Stevie and Greg Montgomery, Michael and Johnny Shearer and Pat Hardwick.

Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today.

Barbara E. Taylor

HARRODSBURG - Barbara Ellen Taylor, 57, of Mercer County, died Saturday at her home.

Born June 30, 1946, in Snow Hill, Md., she was the daughter of the late Ernest Taylor and L.R. Weichmann and E. Faye Sines Weichmann, both of Pocomoke City, Md.

She was a retired nurse for Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Lexington.

Other survivors include her son, Timothy Agner of Broward County, Fla.; a daughter, Sarah F. Agner of Mercer County; six brothers, Robert L. Taylor of Pensacola, Fla., E. Dean Taylor of Lincoln, Del., John M. Taylor of Summerdale, Ala., Dale P. Taylor of Salisbury, Md., Bobby Weichmann of Fayetteville, N.C., and Wayne Weichmann of Pocomoke City, Md.; two sisters, Jean "Tenny" Miller of Salisbury, Md., and Denise Bowen of Snow Hill, Md.; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. today at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home by Dale Denton.

Honorary pallbearers are C.H. Kirkpatrick, Phillip Kirkpatrick, Ricky Peyton, Chuck McKinney, Darron Vandivier, Donald Herring, Marty Lawson, Austin Norton and Darrel Dickerson.

A memorial service also will be held at a later date in Salisbury, Md.


Jon C. Ormsby

Services for Jon Curtis Ormsby, 49, of Grabruck Drive, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Outreach Baptist Church by the Revs. Lonnie Moore, Steve Owens and Steve Ellis.

He died Friday at his residence.

Pallbearers will be Steve Ellis, Robert Todd, Tim Shannon, Charles Ellis, Eric Prigge and Ed Hannah.

Honorary pallbearers are David Campbell, Patrick Boisvert, and Jeffrey, Joseph and Janet Ramos.

Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today at Stith Funeral Home.

Tony R. Shearer II

Services for Tony Ray "Big Man" Shearer II, 33, of Baughman Avenue, were today at Immanuel Baptist Church by the Revs. Barry Jeffries, Harold Best and Greg Farmer.

Burial was in Danville Memorial Gardens.
