STANFORD - The public is invited to attend downtown Stanford's Christmas festivities Saturday and Sunday.
The activities start at 1 p.m. Saturday on the Lincoln County Courthouse steps, with caroling by several local groups. New Dawn will sing at 2 p.m., followed by The Thompsons at 2:30, Creekside Quartet at 3, Barbara Andrews at 3:30 and Bethel AME Church at 4. Harvey Helm Memorial library will hold an open house from 1-4:30 p.m.
Carriage rides begin at 2 p.m., and a $3 chili luncheon at Stanford Christian Church will run from 3-6 p.m. The luncheon is to benefit the Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce.
The tree lighting on the courthouse lawn will take place at 5:30 p.m. Santa will be on hand after the tree has been lighted, and a parade will start at 6 p.m.
