Lenora Bedinger

Lenora Bedinger, 89, of Arnold Tower, died today at Danville Centre for Health and Rehabilitation.

Arrangements are incomplete at Smith-Jackson Funeral Home.

George Curtsinger

LOUISVILLE - George Curtsinger, 72, of Danville, died Thursday.

Born March 21, 1931, in Boyle County, he was the son of the late Rastus and Nancy Curtsinger. He had been a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church.

Survivors include nieces, Sandra Curtsinger of Lexington, Mona Brashear of Burlington and Margo Hilbert of Florence.

Private graveside services will be held Friday at River Valley Cemetery.

Owen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Kenneth Garrett


LIBERTY - Kenneth Garrett, 87, of South Hatfield Road, Dunnville, died Tuesday at his home.

Born March 15, 1915, in Casey County, he was the son of the late Euriah and Rose Abshur Garrett.

He was retired after having worked as a saw mill operator, carpenter and painter.

Survivors include his wife, Freda Lee Garrett; two sons, Roger Garrett of Dunnville and Marshall Garrett of Georgetown; three daughters, Nellie Cochran of Franklin, Ind., Linda Ellis of Danville and Rhonda Wood of Dunnville; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by Clifford DeHart.

Burial will be in Salem Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Gary Cochran, Darrell Wood, Jackie Overstreet, Lowell Patton, Harold Cleary, Richie Livengood, Gerald Garrett and Jerry Garrett.

Visitation is after 6 p.m. today.


Jefferson Calhoun

Services for Jefferson "Jeff" Calhoun, 97, of Danville Centre for Health and Rehabilitation, will be noon Thursday at First Baptist Church by the Rev. Richard Hill. Burial will be in Hilldale Cemetery.

He died Sunday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born July 8, 1906, in Danville, he was a member of First Baptist Church, Second and Walnut streets, and a former employee of the old Danville Redryer.

Survivors include cousins, friends and a caregiver, Minnie Frye of Danville.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the church until time of service. Smith-Jackson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Shannon Sherrow

LANCASTER - Services for Shannon Sherrow, 60, of Ashlock Drive, will be 1 p.m. Friday at Spurlin Funeral Home by the Rev. Darren Gillespie. Burial will be in Camp Nelson National Cemetery.

He died Saturday at Fort Logan Hospital.

Born July 12, 1943, in Garrard County, he was the son of Cecil W. and Marie Blankenship Sherrow. He was retired from the Air Force and Martin-Marretta Corp. of Orlando, Fla. He was a member of Bryantsville United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Beth Herron Sherrow; a son, Richard Sherrow of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a daughter, Erin D. Pratt of Phoenix, Ariz.; a brother, John Sherrow of Nicholasville; a sister, Bonnie Durham of Nicholasville; and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Mark, Stevie and Paul Dean Ballard, Kevin Corman, Gordon Deshon and Dallas Knight.

Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Rensink, Frank Corman, Jim Baker, Dale LeMay, Johnnie Walker and Bill Denny.

Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Thursday.
