Quilting retreat set for January

Anyone who wants to learn to quilt or has a quilting project started that needs completing can accomplish these goals at the Jabez quilt seminar Jan. 28-31 at the Kentucky Leadership Center on Lake Cumberland. A snow date is Feb. 4-7.

The Leadership Center provides a retreat, stress-free type atmosphere for three days of educational classes. There will be 42 different classes at all levels (beginning, intermediate and advanced).

Topics include log cabin jackets, Hawaiian appliqu, hand-piecing, chenille, easy crazy quilt and machine techniques.

Many of the classes have limited enrollment. Registration is on a first-come basis with a Jan. 5 deadline.


Crab Orchard City Commission - 2 p.m. Tuesday for bid opening for water/wastewater upgrades. January's meeting has been moved to 6:30 p.m. Jan 8 at City Hall, due to the holiday.

Crab Orchard Community Association - 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall.
