BURGIN - The Burgin boys jumped out to an early 25-8 lead and outscored Collegiate 21-10 in the third quarter to pull away for a 76-53 win on homecoming.
The Bulldogs (2-1) got a big game from Zack Gross, who finished 12-for-21 from the field, including four 3-pointers. Gross finished with 29 points, 10 rebounds and six steals.
"It was really a good night for Zack Gross," Burgin coach Don Irvine said. "He shot the ball well and he did a great job defensively."
Sean Bottoms added 13 points, seven assists and five rebounds and Joe Harris had 14 points and eight boards. Bobby Wylie also had a career-high nine points and grabbed three rebounds.
