LAWRENCEBURG - Derrick Lang of Danville finished second in his weight class at the Anderson County Invitational, and two other Danville wrestlers finished third in the season-opening meet.
Lang pinned two opponents in less than a minute before being pinned by Bourbon County's Justin Ishmael 92 seconds into his championship match in the 215-pound class.
Chris Booth (125 pounds) and Phillip Mathis (152) each rebounded after losing their first match to win three straight matches and earn third-place finishes in their respective brackets. Booth won his third-place match by major decision; Mathis won by pin.
Matt Booth was fifth at 140 pounds.
Danville coach Jeff Selby said it was a typical first meet of the season for the Admirals.
"We saw some good things, and we saw a lot of stuff we need to work on like usual," Selby said.
