LOUISVILLE - A Lincoln County youth was named winner in the Outstanding Farm Bureau Youth contest at the 84th Kentucky Farm Bureau convention Tuesday at the Galt Hotel in Louisville.
Matthew Anderson of Hustonville was one of two youths that won $2,000 college scholarships and trips to Washington, D.C., on the 2004 Farm Bureau Congressional Tour in February.
Anderson also won a congeniality award.
Gregory Goode of Casey County was named vice chairman of the Farm Bureau Young Farmers Advisory Committee at the convention.
Goode, along with Jason and Tori Gaffney of Lancaster, were named to the 12-member young farmer's committee.
Cathy Pleasants of Stanford was re-elected first vice chairman of the women's committee, and Terry Gilbert of Danville was named to the Women's Advisory Committee.
Three people, Terry Gilbert of Danville and David Campbell and Dan Grigson, both of Stanford, retained their seats on the state Farm Bureau Federation board.
