LIBERTY - James E. Allen, 92, of Ky. 1547, died Saturday at his home.
Born March 20, 1911, in Casey County, he was the son of the late O.T. and Cora Peck Allen.
He was a retired farmer, a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and the widower of Mary Jane Downs Allen.
Survivors include three brothers, Johnny Allen of Fruitland Park, Fla., Junior Allen of Versailles, and Eulis Allen of Campbellsville; and four sisters, Dorothy Choate and Mossie Stafford, both of Liberty, Julie Pittman of Bradsfordsville and Diane Woods of Portland, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by a son, Otis Allen.
Services were 11 a.m. today at Allen Cemetery by Jeff Edwards.
McKinney-Brown Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
LIBERTY - Effie Barlow, 87, of Liberty Care Center, died Sunday.
Born Oct. 20, 1916, in Casey County, she was the daughter of the late Finely Griffin. She was a retired seamstress and homemaker, a member of Liberty First Church of God and the widow of Jesse Barlow.
Survivors include three sons, Lewis Barlow of Liberty, Bill Barlow of Tombstone, Ariz., and James Barlow of Louisville; four brothers, Ervin Griffin of Danville and Franklin Griffin, Tommy Griffin and Virgil Griffin, all of Hustonville; two sisters, Laura Crowe and Helen Watts, both of Hustonville; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by the Rev. Greg Burton.
Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
Visitation is after 5 p.m. today.
HARRODSBURG - Margaret Boswell, of Carey Lane, Washington County, died Monday at her home.

Ruby S. Hoskins
BEREA - Ruby S. Hoskins, 96, of Lawrenceville, Ga., died Wednesday.
She lived in Danville from 1939-1966, worked at Sears, and helped her husband in his dry cleaning business, Vogue Cleaners. They then moved to Shebyville, where she was manager of a Sears store.
Survivors include her son, Harold Hoskins of Lawrenceville; and three grandchildren.
Graveside services were today at Berea Cemetery.
Davis & Powell Funeral Home was in charge or arrangements.
LIBERTY - J.C. Long, 57, of Ellison Road, died Monday at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset.
Born April 26, 1946, in Casey County, he was the son of Nora Noe Passmore of Liberty and the late Riley Long.
He was a farmer.
Additional survivors include his wife, Joyce White Long; a son, David W. Long of Versailles; two daughters, Connie Long of Gravel Switch and Brittney Long of Liberty; three stepchildren, Charlene Mercer, Morgan Mercer and Andrew Mercer, all of Liberty; three brothers, Denver Dillingham and Larry Long, both of Versailles, and Junior Long of Liberty; three sisters, Betty Harris of Mintonville and Mary Lee Wilson and Helen Passmore, both of Liberty; and a grandchild.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by Don Clark.
Burial will be in Hilltop Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Jean O. Knudson
Services for Jean Ognibene Knudson, 89, of McDowell Place, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church by the Rev. Linh Nguyen.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, River Grove, Ill.
She died Saturday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Pallbearers will be Lewis Yates, Bob Corcoran, Joe A. Petry, Joe R. Petry, Mark Ramos and Bob Reister.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday with a prayer service at 8 p.m. at Stith Funeral Home.
Memorials may go to the American Heart Association or Heritage Hospice.
Marquese E. Sinkhorn
Services for Marquese Edward Sinkhorn, 16-month-old son of Amanda Sue Sinkhorn and Clarence E. Harris, both of Stanford, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Stith Funeral Home by the Rev. William Jenkins.
He died Saturday at University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center, Lexington.
Visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Wednesday.
