Joint services set for father and son

Services for Timothy L. Franklin and Robert L. Franklin will be 1 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Stith Funeral Home.

Memorials may go to Patricia E. Franklin Education Fund, c/o Boyle County school system's central office.

Timothy L. Franklin

Timothy Lewis Franklin, 39, of Little Needmore Road, died Friday.

Born Nov. 18, 1964, in Boyle County, he was the son of the late Robert L. and Patricia Gregory Franklin. He was a drywall installer and a 1982 graduate of Boyle County High School.

Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Elizabeth Franklin of Danville; and his former wife, Sheryl Baugh Franklin of Danville.

Robert L. Franklin

Robert Lewis Franklin, 72, of Little Needmore Road, died Friday.

Born Feb. 23, 1931, in Boyle County, he was the son of the late Lewis F. and Sarah A. "Sally" Boyd Franklin. He was a bus driver for the Boyle County school system and letter carrier, the widower of Patricia Gregory Franklin and attended Pentecostal Church of Harrodsburg.


Survivors include a sister, Mildred Brummett of Danville; and a granddaughter.

He was the father of the late Timothy L. Franklin, Ronnie G. Franklin and Bonnie L. Franklin.

Hugh J. Brown

CRAB ORCHARD - Hugh James Brown, 62, of Ky. 39, died Tuesday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born March 8, 1941, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Grace Brown. He was a former employee of Ford Motor Co.

Survivors include three sons, Timmy J. Brown and Jeremy J. "J.J." Reynolds, both of Crab Orchard, and James D. Turner of Lexington; two daughters, Karen A. Brown of Ohio and Sherry L. Warther of Indiana; and three grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at McKnight Funeral Home by Shelby Reynolds. Burial will be in Mount Zion Church of Christ Cemetery.

Visitation is after 5 p.m. today.

Lena A. Denney

CRAB ORCHARD - Lena Alice Abbott Denney, 79, of Star Avenue, died Tuesday at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.

Born Feb. 24, 1924, in Monticello, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rona Decker Abbott. She was a member of World Harvest Revival Center in Danville, a senior citizens companion and a former employee of Fort Logan Hospital. She was the widow of Carl Denny.

Survivors include five daughters, Betty Pearl of Mount Vernon, Pauline Thompson of Lancaster, Loretta Gilliam of Taswell, Tenn., and Fran Napier and Juanita Harris, both of Danville; five sons, Billy Denny, Bobby Denny and Carlos Denny, all of Crab Orchard, Carl Denney of Cleves, Ohio, and Dan Denney of Stanford; a brother, Andrew Abbott of Monticello; 40 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at McKnight Funeral Home by Cecil Roundtree and Grant Bowman. Burial will be in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Thursday.

Theresa S. Ehorn

CRAB ORCHARD - Theresa Schupp Ehorn, 44, of Stanford, died Wednesday at Fort Logan Hospital. Arrangements are incomplete at McKnight Funeral Home.

James A. Rogers

STANFORD - James A. Rogers, 73, husband of Charlene Rogers, died Tuesday at Fort Logan Hospital . Arrangements are incomplete at Fox Funeral Home.

David L. Speer

ST. CLOUD, Minn. - David L. Speer, 49, of St. Cloud died Monday at his home.

Born March 19, 1954, he was the son of the late Donald and Mary Smith Speer.

Survivors include his wife, Pamela Speer; his children, Melissa Fletcher, Joshua, Robert and Ashley Speer; a sister, Diana Gosser of Hustonville; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, David L. Speer Jr.

Services were today at Williams Funeral Home by the Rev. Hal Spann. Burial will be in North Star Cemetery.


Frank Grimes

Services for Frank Grimes, 60, of Bruce Court, were today at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Charles White. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

He died Saturday at his home.

Pallbearers were James and Lester Dotson, Darrin Gibson, Estill Sims, Eddie Mayes and Larry Bugg.

John W. Vongruenigen

Services for John Wayne Vongruenigen, 62, of Longview Drive, will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Ernest Martin. Burial will be in Camp Nelson National Cemetery with military rites.

He died Monday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today.

Pallbearers will be members of the military funeral squad.

Memorials may go to the American Heart Association.

Mary M. Boswell

HARRODSBURG - Services for Mary Margaret Boswell, 80, of Carey Lane, Washington County, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home by Paul Readnour. Burial will be in Battle Cemetery, Washington County.

She died Monday at her home.

Born March 29, 1923, in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late John and Lou Ada Dye Sherrow.

She was a homemaker, a member of Cornishville Baptist Church and the widow of Jake Boswell.

Survivors include three sons, Johnny Boswell and Willie Boswell, both of Mackville, and Noble Boswell of McAfee; five daughters, Marie Reynolds, Carolyn Buck and Mary Lou Henry, all of Mercer County, Sue Shearer of Mackville, and Cleta Boswell of Bartleville, Okla.; 20 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Jacob Elwood Boswell and Walter "Tommy" E. Boswell.

Pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary pallbearers are grandchildren.

Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today and after 7 a.m. Thursday.
