Monroe Grigsby

Monroe Grigsby, 78, of Blue Lick Road, Stanford, died Tuesday at Fort Logan Hospital.

Born July 15, 1925, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late James and Minnie Grigsby. He was an employee of R.J. Reynolds Co. and a member of Bethel AME Church in Boneyville.

Survivors include a companion, Alene Wilkinson of Stanford; two daughters, Denise Smith of Indianapolis and Jeanne Wilkinson of Stanford; a son, James Wilkinson of Stanford; a sister, Elizabeth Whitlock of Louisville; and several grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Bethel AME Church by William Jenkins. Burial will be in Goode Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Victor Wilkinson, Wayne Masterson, Mitchell Wilkinson, Marlin Wilkinson, Mitchell Wilkinson II and John Routt Jr.

Honorary pallbearers are Robert Coulter Sr., Manlis Lasure, John Routt Sr., Mark Gooch, Frankie Gooch and Ollie Simpson II.

Visitation will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday at the church.

Margaret Belcher

HARRODSBURG - Margaret Belcher, 44, of Linietta Drive, Junction City, died today at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. She was the mother of Margo Hartman of Stanford and Anthony Belcher of Junction City. Arrangements are incomplete at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

Mattie Chapp

STANFORD - Hattie Chapp, 96, of McKinney, died Thursday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Arrangements are incomplete at Fox Funeral Home.

Fred D. Overstreet

HARRODSBURG - Fred D. Overstreet, 98, of Bondville Road, Salvisa, died Thursday at Harrodsburg Health Care Center.

Born Dec. 6, 1905, in Bondville, he was the son of the late Tom and Sue James Overstreet. He was a retired farmer, a graduate of Kavanaugh High School in Anderson County and the widower of Zoe Rue Overstreet.

Survivors include two daughters, Ann O. Tracy of Lawrenceburg and Charlotte Fallis of Harrodsburg; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Fred Overstreet Jr., and a daughter, Jane Rue Overstreet.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

There will be no visitation.

Memorials may go to Bluegrass Hospice or Harrodsburg Health Care Center.


Robert L. Franklin

Services for Robert L. Franklin, 72, of Little Needmore Road, were today at First Baptist Church, Broadway, by the Revs. Bobby Potts and Terry Orcutt. Burial is in Bellevue Cemetery.

He died Dec. 12.

Pallbearers are Leroy Releford, Leo Sinkhorn, Mark Bottoms, Ronnie Bottoms, Gary Brummett, Mark Hoffman, Jimmy Brooks and Gray Taylor.

Honorary pallbearers are Boyle County schools central office staff.

Timothy L. Franklin

Services for Timothy L. Franklin, 39, of Little Needmore Road, were today at First Baptist Church, Broadway, by the Revs. Bobby Potts and Terry Orcutt. Burial is in Bellevue Cemetery.

He died Saturday.

Pallbearers are Robbie Stoudemayer, D.J. Stevens, Frankie Hogue, Richard Hogue, Gary Hogue, Sammy Warren, Phillip Barrow and Jared Lane.

Triston D. Roach

PERRYVILLE - Services for Triston Dale Roach, 5 months, son of Donald Roach of Parksville and Loxie Yates of Danville, are 2 p.m. today at Wilder Funeral Home by the Revs. Daniel Wilson and Dan Johnson. Burial will be in Mitchellsburg Church of God Cemetery.

He died Wednesday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Pallbearers will be James and Amy Downey, Jimmy Baker and Donna Webb.

Ova Edwards

LIBERTY - Services for Ova Edwards, 87, of Liberty, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Bartle Funeral Home by Bearl King. Burial will be in Tapscott Cemetery.

She died today at Danville Centre for Health and Rehabilitation.

Born April 21, 1916, in Casey County, she was the daughter of the late Jason and Clara Barlow Taylor. She was a homemaker and the widow of Cleo Edwards.

Survivors include three daughters, Margaret Ritchie of Harrodsburg, Eula Mae Lewis of Willisburg, and Linda S. McQueary of Liberty; three sons, Rufus and Marty Edwards, both of Liberty, and Lonnie Edwards of Waddy; three sisters, Myrtle Derringer of Liberty, Ella Cross of Stanford and Nora Denson of Perryville; two brothers, Charlie Taylor of Harrodsburg and Mitchell Taylor of Liberty; 26 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Rex McQueary, Butch Ritchie, Lloyd Lewis, Ricky, Dale and Frankie Edwards.

Visitation is 4-9 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Saturday.

Allen C. Smith

HARRODSBURG - Services for Allen Carroll Smith, 82, of Johnson Road will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Greg Humpert. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery with military rites.

He died Wednesday in Harrodsburg.

Born Sept. 8, 1921, in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Sidney and Ona Kurtz Smith. He was a retired employee of the molding department at Corning Glass Works of Harrodsburg, an Army veteran of World War II, and a member of American Legion and Burgin Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Bell Clark Smith of Harrodsburg; two sons, Donald Carroll of Lexington and Richard Lee of Harrodsburg; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Don Smith Jr., Clay Peavler, James Lyons, Hugh Phillips, Liewellin Peavler and Alfred Smith.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and after 7:30 a.m. Saturday.

James A. Rogers

STANFORD - Services for James A. Rogers, 73, of High Bridge Road will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Stanford Baptist Church by the Rev. Max Hester. Burial will be in Lawrenceburg Cemetery.

He died Tuesday at Fort Logan Hospital.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy, Tim, Mike and Roger Rogers, Greg Baird, Rod Bates and Scott Montgomery.

Honorary pallbearers will be Glenn Hurt, Huber Lee, James Phillips, Carrol Richards, Ricky Mullins, Reuben Owens, John Mayne and Leroy Petrey.

Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today at Fox Funeral Home and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the church.
