A house at 475 High St. was heavily damaged by fire Saturday.
According to Danville Fire Department assistant chief Woody Ball, 20 firefighters responded to the blaze after receiving a call at 8:23 a.m. The home, owned by Phyllis Hurst and occupied by Crystal and Lee Baker, was already blazing when units arrived, and Ball said the house and contents were severely damaged.
The home was occupied by a teenager and two small children, who escaped without injury. Firefighters remained on the scene for three and one-half hours, Ball said.
Ball said the American Red Cross responded and assisted the victims with shelter. The cause of the fire is undetermined and still under investigation.
