In a week filled with upsets, Patty Jurgensen of Lexington knew her college basketball better than anyone else.
She got all 10 games right to win last week's Popeyes Beat the Experts Basketball Contest. She wins a 12-piece chicken dinner from Popeyes and is eligible for the season-ending grand prize contest. That contest will be picking winners of first-round NCAA Tournament games in March and will be open only to winners of the weekly contests.
Monica Burns and guest expert Walter Goggin led the panel of experts with seven games right. Sports editor Larry Vaught had six right. Burns was closest on the tiebreaker score of Kentucky's win over Indiana to lead the panel of experts.
Those who beat Burns to win a 2-piece chicken dinner from Popeyes were as follows:
Eight right - Kenny Barnett, Lebanon; Danny Strevels, Stanford; Ed Walls, Danville; John Harris, Harrodsburg; Dana Reising, Danville; Gordon Howe, Danville; and Gene Milburn, Harrodsburg.
