Boyle community education classes offered

Boyle County Community Education Program is offering the following classes. For more information, call (859) 239-8986.

Intermediate Excel: 8-11 a.m. Jan. 5 and 7 at Kentucky School for the Deaf. Instructor is Beth Hayes.

Introduction to Word: 1-4 p.m. Jan. 5 and 7 at KSD. Instructor is Beth Hayes.

Introduction to Windows: 1-4 p.m. Jan. 6 and 8 at KSD. Instructor is Timothy Downey.

Introduction to Access: 5:30-8:30 p.m. Jan. 6-8 at Central Kentucky Technical College. Instructor is Clovis Perry.

Introduction to Word: 6-8 p.m. Jan. 6 and 8 at Boyle County Middle School. Instructor is D.J. Smith.

WELL for Life sessions begin Jan. 5 and 9

McDowell Wellness Center will offer two sessions of WELL for Life, a 12-week program, beginning in January.

The evening session runs from 7-8 p.m. each Monday from Jan. 5 through March 22. Participants must register by Dec. 29. The morning session will run from 10-11 a.m. each Friday from Jan. 9 through March 26. Participants must register by Jan. 2.


The program helps individuals achieve weight-loss and fitness goals. The cost is $96 for McDowell Wellness Center members and $246 for non-members, which includes a three-month membership. Non-members who choose to continue their membership after completing the 12-week program will not have to pay the enrollment fee.

The name of one of the occupants of a home damaged by fire Saturday at 475 High St. was incorrect in Monday's paper. Mike and Crystal Baker were the occupants of the home.|None***
