Gretl, a lovable adult cat, is among the animals available for adoption at the Danville-Boyle County Humane Society Animal Shelter. Other cats include a white adult named Polly, a tortoiseshell named Gilda, and a black and white medium-hair named Zoe. There are also a few kittens available.
Dogs include a female black Labrador retriever named Chocolate, a male German shepherd named Pharoh and a yellow Lab mix named Ginger. Puppies include black and yellow Lab mixes, beagle mixes and hound mixes.
The adoption fee for both cats and dogs is $60, which includes feline leukemia test for cats, spay/neuter surgery, first vaccinations and de-worming, rabies shot and dog tag.

The animal shelter, located on the bypass beside the fairgrounds, is closed today and Christmas Day.
