Harold C. Bell

Harold "Chris" Christie Bell, 90, of McDowell Place, formerly of West Virginia, died Wed-nesday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born June 14, 1813, in Berryville, Va., he was a son of the late Victor Allen and Leona Elizabeth Chisty Bell. He was the widower of Christine Wooten Bell. He was a retired store manager for Island Creek Coal Co., a former member of the Virginia National Guard, a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), where he was an elder and deacon, and a member of Gideons International in Logan W.Va.

A graduate of John Handley High School in Winchester, W.Va., a Mason (Scottish Rite) and longtime Kiwanis Club member in Delbarton W.Va., past president of AARP in, Logan, W.Va., a former member of Tug Valley, W.Va., and the Chamber of Commerce.

He also was instrumental in starting the 4-H Club and the Golden Gloves Club in Mingo County, W.Va.


Survivors include a daughter, Betty Lykins of Danville; a brother, Frederick Bell of Princeton, W.Va.; a sister, Betty Bell Grove of Bluemont, Va.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, William Frederick Bell.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Honaker Funeral Home, Logan, W.Va. Burial with Masonic rites will be in Highland Memory Gardens in Logan.

Visitation is 6:30-9 p.m. Sunday.

Stith Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

Memorials may go to Gideon's International.

Betty Fuqua

Betty Louise Fuqua, 64, of Waterworks Road, died Wednesday at her home. She was a sister of Montee Fowler of Danville. Arrangements are incomplete at Stith Funeral Home.

Myrtle Reed

STANFORD - Myrtle Reed, 85, of McKinney died today at Fort Logan Hospital. Arrangements are incomplete at Spurlin Funeral Home.


Willie P. Cornelius

LANCASTER - Services for Willie P. Cornelius, 74, of Totten Avenue, will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Spurlin Funeral Home by the Rev. Walter Bowling and Jim Cook. Burial will be in Fellowship Pentecostal Church Cemetery.

He died Tuesday at his home.

Born in Garrard County, he was a son of the late Burham and Cora Gilliam Cornelius. He was a retired farmer and a member of Dix River Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include his wife, Josephine Coffey Cornelius; two sons, Billie Joe Cornelius of Boyle County and Ted David Cornelius of Lancaster; three daughters, Brenda Adams and Bonnie Lancaster, both of Lancaster, and Willie Frances Adams of Crab Orchard; six brothers, Donald Cornelius and Cecil Cornelius, both of Stanford, Bobby Cornelius, Jay Cornelius and Joe Cornelius, all of Lancaster; and Jack Cornelius of Indiana; four sisters, Marie Keyser of Knoxville, Tenn.; Frances Centers of Richmond, Ind., and Dovie McQuerry and Madrew Davis, both of Lancaster; 17 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Active pallbearers will be Norman Lawrence, Woody Taylor, Mike Toler, Richard Padgett, Bobby Adams, Mike Gibson, Jody Dailey and Brian Edwards. Honorary pallbearers are Tyler Hubbard, Matt Simpson, Brandon Riggs, Kristopher Adams, Andrew Adams and Tony Lay.

Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Saturday.

Joe W. Griffin

Services for Joe Willis Griffin, 65, of South Greenville Street, Harrodsburg, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Stith Funeral home by the Rev. Donnie Releford. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg.

He died Monday at Frankfort Regional Medical Center.

Active pallbearers will be Tim Bryant Jr., I.C. Phillips, Kenny Thompson, Dannie Kidd, John Tankersley, Ryan Griffin, Lee T. Releford and Brett Lanham.

Honorary pallbearers are the industrial security staff at American Greetings.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today.
