The United States military and our troops deserve and demand all of the resources that we as citizens can give them. In the Wednesday issue of the Advocate, Mr. Randall Russell stated, "What do we want, Congress to cut funding to our troops?"
The United States can never back down from a fight. In recent articles, many readers have stated their opinions on the war in Iraq. The one simple statement that President Bush and his administration made at the start of the war was that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction and that was the basis for going to war. The current administration has not presented one tiny piece of evidence that Saddam was involved with September 11 nor have they found one WMD.
There are those who may say that we who disagree about why are in Iraq are those who spit on our troops when they came back from Vietnam. I say shame on those who even think such ignorant thoughts. I had relatives who served in Vietnam and neighbors who gave the ultimate sacrifice. So, no, Mr. Russell, just because I don't agree with out president and his actions in going to Iraq, doesn't mean I don't support our troops.
