HARRODSBURG Jessica Marie Phillips, 16, has been found and returned to her parents, according to a detective on the Metro Nashville Police Department.
Detective Robert Swisher said he would not discuss details of the case because charges are pending on other people. He would not say how many people are involved, nor would he say when arrests might be made.
"It could be months," he said this morning. "It's going to be a long, drawn out process."
Swisher said he found the girl Saturday and she was turned over to her parents, Glenn and Virginia Phillips.
In an interview with Mercer County Sheriff's Deputy Chris Kehrt, the parents said she had been missing since early Friday morning and their Ford Escape SUV was missing, too. They said she was a very inexperienced driver. They also discussed their daughter's use of the Internet and that she had been in several chat rooms.
