MedSource offers free cholesterol screenings

Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center will offer free cholesterol screenings from 9-11 a.m. Jan. 6 at MedSource, 326 W. Walnut St. Appointments are not necessary.

Individuals with no risk factors for heart disease should have their cholesterol tested once every five years, beginning at age 35 for men and at age 45 for women.

Watch Night services scheduled

Vision Church of Holiness will host a Watch Night service at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Brady Hall on the Kentucky School for the Deaf campus. The minister is Larry D. Weathers Sr.


St. James AME Church will host a Watch Night service at 10 p.m. Wednesday. Guest ministers will be the Revs. Willie Newby, William Jenkins, James McPherson and Ralph B. Smith. Jeremiah Wilson is host minister.


Junction City Council - 7:30 p.m. today at City Hall. The agenda includes an executive session on litigation.


Edward R. Spears was the son of the late Walton and Lennie Spears. He died Dec. 21, and his father's name was incorrect in his obituary.
