CARTERSVILLE - Two brothers were found dead Sunday morning in Garrard County, the apparent result of a mobile home engulfed in flames.
Officials had not identified the bodies by press time today, but a family member said the victims are Arnold and Bobby Harold. David James, a brother-in-law, said the single-wide belonged to Arnold and that Bobby was visiting.
Kentucky State Police said Cartersville firefighters who responded to the blaze discovered the bodies inside the home after putting out the fire. Fire officials then called in the KSP, which is leading the investigation into cause of the fire.
James said the bodies were found in the kitchen. Several members of the family live in the area, James said.
Garrard County Coroner Daryl Hodge said autopsies will be performed today in Frankfort by the state medical examiner.
"At this time the fire is still under investigation and the bodies have not been identified," he said. "It's going to be at least tomorrow, maybe Wednesday, before we know anything."
