Brian Sawyer of Stanford certainly knows his college basketball as he got all 10 games right to win last week's Popeyes Beat the Experts Basketball Contest.
Sawyer was also off only two points on the tiebreaker score of Kentucky's win over North Carolina. UK won 61-56 while Sawyer picked a 62-57 victory.
He wins a 12-piece chicken dinner from Popeyes and is now eligible for the season-ending grand prize contest.
Guest expert Randy Hawkins of Danville, a regular contest participant, led The Advocate-Messenger panel of experts with nine correct choices. Those with nine right who beat him on the tiebreaker score to win a 2-piece chicken dinner from Popeyes were as follows: Al Atmore, Danville; Will McCormack, Stanford; Cecilia Vandyke, Lexington; and Lauren Newman, Danville.
