Female suspect scuffles with police

HARRODSBURG - Angela Goodlett, 37, of 549 Newby Drive, is being held in the Boyle County Detention Center on a $5,000 cash bond after she allegedly fought police as they tried to arrest her Friday afternoon.

Police responded to a complaint from the owner of Speed Queen Laundry saying Goodlett had caused property damage and the owner wanted her to leave. When police arrived, the owner said the suspect had thrown water in her face.

When police tried to subdue Goodlett, she allegedly threw wet garments at them and threw water in Officer Gerald Wooldridge's face. She became combative, police said, and began fighting with officers.

As Goodlett was taken to be processed at the police department, Detective Bobby Durham tried to help her from the car and she spat in his face, police said.

Inside the booking area, she managed to free herself from handcuffs and swung them violently at officers until she was again subdued by Wooldridge and Durham.

She is being held on charges of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and third-degree assault on a police officer. Chaplin Sgt. Terry Cornish assisted with the case.
