Danville's Booth 4th at Lafayette

DANVILLE - Chris Booth of Danville finished fourth in the 125-pound class Saturday at the Lafayette Invitational.

Booth won three matches to win his pool and advance to the medal round, where he lost his semifinal and third-place matches.

"Chris had a pretty good day just getting out of his pool," Danville coach Jeff Selby said.

Danville's Dylan Hester (130 pounds) and Philip Mathis won two of three matches in their respective pools.


125 - Chris Booth (Danville) def. Corey Armstrong (Christian County) 6-4; won by forfeit; def. Gary Hendrickson (LaRue County) 11-1; pinned by Marcus Bradbury (Central Hardin), 1:46; pinned by Andrew Bowling (LaRue County), 1:35.

130 - Dylan Hester (Danville) pinned John Teague (Christian County), 5:30; pinned by Sam Thompson (Hoover, Ala.), 1:42; won by forfeit.


135 - Jacob Phillips (Danville) lost to Cameron Bibbs (Christian County) 10-5; pinned by Ryan Ramano (Hoover, Ala.), 1:28; pinned Zack Hall (Henry Clay), :36.

140 - Matt Booth (Danville) lost to Damone Johnson (Christian County) 8-6, OT; pinned by Khalid Arafen (Hoover, Ala.), 1:30; pinned by Kyle Cameron (LaRue County), 3:19.
