Michael Bottom of Harrodsburg not only got nine games right in last week's Popeyes Beat the Experts Basketball Contest, but he was also close to be perfect on the tiebreaker score of Kentucky's win over Vanderbilt.
Because of that tiebreaker score, Bottom beat seven other contestants who also had nine games right to win last week's contest.
He wins a 12-piece chicken dinner from Popeyes and is now eligible for the season-ending grand prize contest.
Sports editor Larry Vaught led The Advocate-Messenger panel of experts with eight correct choices. However, he was off only one point on the tiebreaker score, meaning no contestant with eight games right beat him.
Those who did get nine right besides Bottom to win a 2-piece chicken dinner from Popeyes were as follows:
Nine right - Randy Hawkins, Danville; Randy Kemplin, Danville; Sally Brammer, Stanford; Marvin King, McKinney; John Dinwiddie, Danville; Jimmy Glasscock, Perryville; and Steve Morris, Danville.
