HARRODSBURG - Nicarra Jones, who pleaded guilty last month to second-degree manslaughter in the death of her then 10-month-old son, was sentenced to 10 years in prison Monday afternoon.
Jones stood quietly before Mercer District Judge Darren Peckler, who handed down the sentence based on recommendations from a Probation and Parole report and the commonwealth's attorney. She will receive credit for the 350 days she has served in the Boyle County Detention Center.
Jones was indicted on a murder charge, but the charge was reduced, based on an offer from the prosecution.
Jones' son, Braydon Caleb Jones, died of blunt force trauma to the head.
