LIBERTY - Two Pulaski County men were indicted on charges of burglary and theft Monday by a Casey County grand jury.
Sherman L. Townsend, 32, and Ryan Davis, both of Somerset, were each charged with first-degree burglary and theft by unlawful taking for allegedly entering the residence of Maleen Lawless on Ky. 837 Dec. 27 and taking jewelry and other personal items.
Townsend and Davis were armed with a deadly weapon during the burglary, according to the indictment. A police report indicated that shots were fired inside the Lawless residence, but no one was hurt.
Two Liberty men also were indicted on receiving stolen property charges in connection with a tobacco theft Dec. 16.
Ronald D. Howard III, 19, of 629 Hustonville St., and Jonathan Cundiff, 21, of 3065 Poplar Hill Road, allegedly removed four bales of tobacco from Tony Luttrell, knowing that the tobacco had been stolen.
