A Boyle County grand jury recently handed up drug-related charges against three people arrested in December in a raid on Lisa Avenue.
Lorrie Stewart Johnson, 28, 104 Lisa Ave.; Larry Letcher, 50, East Walnut Street; and Demond Thornton, 27, and Terri Lynn Thornton, 25, both of 103 Lisa Ave., were indicted on one count each of trafficking in a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. The indictments allege that on Dec. 7, they possessed cocaine with intent to traffic and possessed scales, a pipe, electronic scales, baking soda, scissors and a straw. Patrick McQueen was the grand jury witness, and bail was set at $10,000, 10 percent for each.
An inmate at Boyle Detention Center was indicted for allegedly striking a jail officer.
Keith Allen McGuire, 44, was charged with third-degree assault and being a first-degree persistent felony offender. The indictment alleges on Aug. 20, he struck officer Travis Richardson, causing physical injury. Bond was set at $20,000.
