Samuel C. Durham

LANCASTER, Calif. - Samuel C. Durham died Nov. 29 in Lancaster, Calif. He was the son of Robert Evans and Lydia C. Durham of Boyle County. Survivors include two brothers, William C. Durham of Danville and T.C. Durham of Lancaster, Calif. Burial was in Lancaster, Calif.

R.B. Lawless

LIBERTY - R.B. Lawless, 81, of Bethelridge, died Tuesday in Liberty.

Born May 6, 1922, in Little Rock, Ark., he was the son the late Levi and Maude Page Lawless. He was a retired farmer and construction worker, an Army veteran of World War II, a member of Valley Oak Baptist Church and the widower of Sylvia Mason Lawless.

Survivors include three sons, Robert Lawless of Bethelridge, Ronald Lawless of Liberty and Donald Lawless of Science Hill; a brother, Alfred Lawless of Danville, Ill.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.


Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by Troy Merrick. Burial with military rites will be in Valley Oak Cemetery.

Visitation is after 6 p.m. today.

Martha F. Whitaker

MORELAND - Martha Frances Whitaker, 79, of Louisville, formerly of Moreland, died Monday in Louisville.

Born Feb. 28, 1924, in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Laura Benedict Hogue. She was a homemaker, a member of Harris Creek Baptist Church and the widow of Rolland Whitaker.

Survivors include six sons, Ronnie, Greg, Paul and Allen Whitaker, all of Louisville, Leland Whitaker of Colorado, and Gerald Whitaker of Lebanon Junction; three brothers, Buddy and Henry Hogue, both of Mount Washington, and Bobby Hogue of Waynesburg; six sisters, Gladys Lawson of Casey County, Joann Hafley of Louisville, Jackie Conner of Junction City, Betty Hogue of Moreland, Linda Horton of Salvisa and Bonnie Hogue Johnson of Hustonville; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. David Fralix. Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Thursday.

Patsy Williams

OWENTON - Patsy Williams, 74, of Wheatley, died Sunday at Owenton Manor.

Born Dec. 13, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Oakley and Jeanette Howard Hewitt. She was a member of Dallasburg Baptist Church and the widow of R.O. Williams Jr.

Survivors include a daughter, Suzanne Underwood of Danville; two sons, Rusty Williams of New Liberty and Howard S. Williams of Carrollton; and seven grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at Dallasburg Baptist Church in Wheatley. Burial will be in Wheatley Cemetery.

Memorials may go to Dallasburg Baptist Youth Group.

John W. Asher

CRAB ORCHARD - Services for John Wesley Asher, 80, of Ky. 3245, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Community Worship Church of God. Burial will be in Piney Grove Cemetery with military rites by Caswell Saufley Post 18, American Legion, of Stanford.

He died Monday at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Lexington.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Asher, Keith Asher Jr., Tony Asher, Ray Fletcher, Jim Buchanan and Larry Nicely. Honorary pallbearers are Raymond Asher and Jerry Denney.

Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at the church.

McKnight Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Charlene E. Grow

LANCASTER - Services for Charlene E. Grow, 61, of Leavell Ridge Road, will be 2 p.m. Friday at Ramsey Funeral Home by the Rev. Jerry Browning. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery.

She died Monday at her home.

Born Jan. 8, 1943, in Garrard County, she was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Dorotha L. Huffman Naylor. She was secretary of Countryside Signs, a former employee of Lancaster Loan Co. and Christian Appalachian Project, and a member of Forks of Dix River Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Robert "Butch" Grow; four sons, Stacy, Troy, Shane and Shon Grow, all of Lancaster; a brother, Jimmy Dale Naylor of Lancaster; and a granddaughter.

Pallbearers will be Russell Bowles, Mike Withers, Gene Hampton, Joe Huffman, Harold Graham, Billy Wayne Lane, Dave Travis and Lonnie Gambrel. Honorary pallbearers are deacons of Forks of Dix River Baptist Church.

Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Thursday.

Memorials may go to Forks of Dix River Baptist Church.

Ronald Henderson

HARRODSBURG - Private services for Ronald Henderson, 48, of Marimon Avenue, will be Thursday.

Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

He died Monday at University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center.

Born March 8, 1955, in Harrodsburg, he was the son of Joe M. Henderson and Bonnie Casey, both of Harrodsburg. He was a former employee of Matsushita Appliance Corp. and R.R. Donnelley & Sons of Danville and a member of the Baptist church.

Other survivors include a sister, Ressa Followell Henderson of Harrodsburg.

There will be no visitation.
