Danville's Ross finishes third at North Hardin

RADCLIFF - Darren Ross of Danville finished third Saturday in the 171-pound class at the North Hardin Invitational, winning four of five matches in his best performance of the season.

Ross edged Mike Atcher of North Hardin in the third-place match, winning a 3-2 decision. He won his previous match in double overtime.

"He had a real good tournament," Danville coach Jeff Selby said. "He's just starting to hit his groove."

Chris Booth reached the semifinals at 125 pounds but lost 15-1 to Nick Griggs of Tates Creek. Booth finished in a tie for fifth place.

"Those were good efforts on their part, and (Booth and Ross) wrestled some real tough kids," Selby said. "They both had the No. 1 seeds in the semifinals."
