STANFORD - The Lincoln County girls scored only seven points in the first half but picked up the pace in the second to defeat Somerset 48-41 Monday night.
Megan Pitts scored 12 points and Jenny Jones added 11 to lead host Lincoln (5-12), which trailed 14-7 at halftime but outscored Somerset 18-12 in the third quarter and 23-15 in the fourth.
A 3-point goal by Pitts was the only field goal of the first half for the Lady Patriots, who also hit four of six free throws.
Pitts went on to go 7-for-8 at the free-throw line, while Jones was 5-for-7.
Lincoln hit 16 of 27 free throws in all and shot 30 percent (15-for-50) from the field, going 15-for-50 overall and 2-for-19 from 3-point range. Somerset shot 26.5 percent (13-for-49) from the field and went 3-for-20 from 3-point range and 12-for-17 at the line.
