LOUISVILLE - Advocate-Messenger photographer Clay Jackson won the top award at the Kentucky News Photographers Association awards banquet Saturday for a photo he took after a tornado struck Mercer County last spring.
Jackson's photo was named Best In Show in the statewide competition, and the same photo received a first place award for Best Spot News photo.
Jackson also received a first place award for Best Sports Feature photo for a shot he took of University of Kentucky coach Tubby Smith during the Michigan State game in December 2003.
A photo he took during the Battle of Perryville re-enactment in October 2003 received an honorable mention award.
