CYNTHIANA - Dylan Hester of Danville won the 130-pound class at a round-robin meet Saturday.
Hester won five matches, four of them by pins, in the tournament.
"He had a real good day," Danville coach Jeff Selby said. "He wrestled well, and he's starting to eliminate the mistakes that would put him in trouble earlier in the year. His technique is getting better and he's staying out of trouble and not putting himself in bad positions."
Jacob Phillips was second in the 135-pound class and Matt Booth was second at 140 pounds.
Dixie Heights, McCreary Central, Perry Central and Pike Central were also at the meet.
Danville returns home to host the Danville Invitational next Saturday. The Invitational will be held at Thomas Gymnasium at Kentucky School for the Deaf because Danville is hosting the boys 12th Region All "A" Classic basketball tournament.
The meet, featuring 16 teams, starts at 10:30 a.m. and finals are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
