Danville's Gordon Howe wasn't surprised that four road teams won games in last week's Popeyes Beat the Experts Basketball Contest because he picked six visiting teams to win.
Howe was the only contestant to get eight games right in last week's contest. He wins a 12-piece chicken dinner from Popeyes and is now eligible for the season-ending grand prize contest.
Sports editor Larry Vaught led The Advocate-Messenger panel of experts with six correct choices. However, only three contestants had seven right and only four of the 22 with six right beat Vaught on the tiebreaker score.
Those who did beat the best expert to win a 2-piece chicken dinner from Popeyes were as follows:
Seven right - Della Underwood, Danville; Agnes Bartleson, Danville; and Scott Branaman, Danville.
Six - Carol Cornett, Parksville; Bob Hair, Stanford; Donna Hair, Stanford; and Warren Jones, Danville.
