HARRODSBURG - A man remains hospitalized in serious condition while his accused assailant remains jailed without bond.
Members of local law enforcement received a 911 call to report to 1375 Bohon Road at about 4 p.m. Sunday where a fight had occurred and a person had been injured. When members of the Mercer County Sheriff's office, Harrodsburg Police Department and the Mercer County Emergency Medical Service arrived at the tenant mobile home, they found Clemente Gonzalez Vasquez with severe injuries to his head, neck and arms.
The victim said he had been assaulted with a weapon by Everad Virgen Castillo, and that he also took a large amount of cash. Police would not reveal the nature of the weapon, saying the case remains under investigation. Virgen Castillo reportedly lives at the same address as the victim.
Gonzalez Vasquez was taken to James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital by Mercer County Emergency Medical Service and later airlifted to the University of Louisville Hospital where he is listed in serious condition today.
