On the evening of Jan. 15, my daughter and I were involved in a traffic accident. Another vehicle ran a stop sign and we were unable to avoid a collision. It's what took place afterward I'm thankful for.
Several people, including a volunteer EMT and his family, stopped to see if we were injured. Fortunately we were not. The other vehicle did not stop and several others followed this vehicle into Danville getting the license plate and informing the police.
Those on the scene had called the local police for me and stood with my daughter, comforting her during this ordeal. Although she was uninjured, she was frightened and upset. I noticed that two of the women with her had tears in their eyes. Compassion and caring. That's what I'm thankful for.
