A Junction City man and a juvenile were arrested Saturday afternoon after an apparent kidnapping plot was thwarted by Boyle sheriff's deputies and Junction City police.
Anthony Rosel II, of Rosel Road, Junction City, was charged with criminal attempt to kidnap, unlawful providing a handgun to a minor, wanton endangerment, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and possession of burglary tools, all felony charges. The juvenile was charged with criminal attempt to kidnap, carrying a concealed deadly weapon and possession of a firearm by a minor.
Deputy Brian Wofford said officers responded to a 911 call just after noon Saturday reporting two people with weapons near a home on Catholic Knob Road. Rosel was lodged in the Boyle Detention Center, and the juvenile was placed in custody outside the county.
Police declined to release the name of the intended victim.
