The Centre College women gave up 20 offensive rebounds Saturday in an 84-75 loss to Sewanee at Alumni Gymnasium.
Centre (5-16, 2-8 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference) was outrebounded 42-23, and coach Jennifer Ruff said the offensive boards were the difference in the game.
"They shot the same percentages we did, but they went hard after the offensive boards," Ruff said. "This probably should've been a win on our part if we rebound ball like we should have, but we gave up too many second-chance opportunities to do that."
Sewanee (10-9, 6-4) pulled away from the Colonels with a 7-0 run at the end of the first half that gave the Tigers a 32-23 halftime lead.
