Richard L. Marrs

BYRON, Ga. - Richard L. Marrs, 57, died Saturday at his home.

Born In Mount Vernon, Ohio, he was the son of the late Joseph T. and Elizabeth Hatton Marrs.

He was a former Methodist minister, founder of Harrodsburg Christian Life Center, and a self-employed contractor.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Marrs; a daughter, Telly Marrs of Macon, Ga.; a son, Wendell Marrs of Winchester; a sister, Marilyn Brashear of Warner Robins, Ga.; and six grandchildren.

A memorial service is 2 p.m. today at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home with visitation to follow service.

Bessie Murphy

LANCASTER - Bessie Murphy, 94, of Herring Heights, died Saturday at Central Baptist Hospital.

Born Sept. 13, 1909, in Garrard County, she was the daughter of the late Sherman and Eate Naylor Osborne.

She was retired from Palm Beach Co. after 40 years and had been a cook at Garrard County Hospital.

She was the widow of Allie Murphy Sr.

Survivors include a son, Kyle Murphy of Lancaster; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Allie Murphy Jr., and a grandchild.

Services will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Spurlin Funeral Home by the Revs. Daryl Hodge and David Young.

Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery.

Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today.

Harmon Shelton

CRAB ORCHARD - Harmon Shelton, 51, of Crab Orchard, died Sunday.

He was the son of Edna Mae Shelton. Arrangements are incomplete at McKnight Funeral Home.

Sammye A. ViLines

DIXON - Sammye Anderson ViLines, 55, formerly of Danville, died Saturday at her home.

Born May 16, 1948, in Danville, she was the daughter of the late James L. and Onita Anderson.

She was an employee of Kentucky Department of Community Based Services, Cabinet for Families and Children, and a former employee of South Central Bell Telephone in Danville. She was a member of the Methodist church.

Survivors include her husband, Randy C. ViLines; a son, Jeff Roysdon of Bowling Green; two stepdaughters, Sherri Williams and Tina Gladyszak, both of St. Petersburg, Fla.; a brother, Lewis Anderson of Lexington; a granddaughter; and two stepgranddaughters.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Townsend Funeral Home by the Rev. Darrell Hillhouse. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today and after 8 am. Tuesday.

Cathy Pendygraft

Services for Catherine Marie "Cathy" Quinn Pendygraft, 48, of Sea Biscuit Drive, will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Tim Mathis.

Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens.

She died Friday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Pallbearers will be Benny, Kenny and Louis Pendygraft, Gina and Scott Branaman and John Brackett. Honorary pallbearers are Tommy McManus and Larry Eggersman.

Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Katie Taylor

HARRODSBURG - Services for Katie Madred "Madge" Pope Taylor, 91, of Louisville, formerly of Harrodsburg, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church by the Rev. Alton Willoughby.

Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.

She died Friday at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville.

Pallbearers will be Benny Yeast, James Thurman, Johnny Cunningham, Chris Short, Andy Harris and James Bryant.

Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
