Kerr will vote to make tax cuts permanent

February 10, 2004

Dear Editor:

As we look at the future, there are many issues that will be negatively affecting Kentucky families if more positive attention is not given to them right away. Alice Forgy Kerr, as a state senator, helped central Kentucky businesses create good jobs. As a member of Congress in Washington, she has pledged to continue this by supporting President Bush's approach to growing the economy and creating jobs. She also supports the president's tax cuts and will vote to make them permanent.

She supports the National Institutes of Health's work in identifying and eliminating the causes of health disparities that affect African Americans. She also has expressed support for President Bush's initiative to increase minority homeownership.

As a state senator, she sponsored important legislation to ensure education accountability and worked to improve educational opportunities in Lexington. In Washington, she will continue to work toward improving schools and education for all children.

Alice Forgy Kerr shares my values as a central Kentuckian. Governor Fletcher recently said that as an experienced legislator who knows how to build coalitions, "Alice is the candidate best prepared to deliver for central Kentucky's families."

She is a gifted communicator and a person of strong moral fiber and integrity. We deserve a leader like Alice Forgy Kerr representing our interests in Washington. Please join me in voting for her on Feb. 17.
