Money stolen from Combs Building

Danville police are investigating a burglary at 3 a.m. Monday at the Combs Building at Centre College. Police said Sodexho Food Service reported an undisclosed amount of cash taken from a safe.

In another case, Ryan Blake, of Danville, reported the theft of a CD case, several CDs and a radar detector at 10 p.m. Sunday from his car in the Centre College parking lot on Beatty Avenue.

Campbellsville men face drug charges

LIBERTY - Two Campbellsville men were arrested Sunday on drug and traffic charges, state police said.

Ronnie D. Claywell, 49, was charged with possession of marijuana and use and possession of drug paraphernalia, and Benjamin J. Cox, 28, was charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants, no seat belts, and possession of marijuana.


Claywell was charged after a search of a vehicle in which he was passenger at the intersection of Ky. 70 and Ky. 1547. A small bag of marijuana and drug paraphernalia were allegedly found on Claywell, state police reported.

Cox was driving north on Ky. 1547 when police stopped his vehicle and allegedly found the marijuana in his pocket.

Both were lodged in Casey County Detention Center.

Casey man allegedly involved in hit and run

LIBERTY - Jeremy T. Watson, 23, of 302 Statham Road, Liberty, was charged Saturday with leaving the scene of a traffic accident and third offense driving under the influence of intoxicants with aggravating circumstances, state police said.

Watson was arrested on a warrant in the city limits and accused of failing to report a hit and run traffic accident June 28 while DUI. He is accused of driving a 1992 Nissan that was involved in a accident with a 1990 Pontiac Grand Am, owned by Andrew Randolph. Randolph was injured, and his auto was damaged, police said.
