RICHMOND - Bev Harris scored 21 points to lead the Burgin girls to their third victory of the season over Model, a 62-48 win Wednesday night.
The Lady Bulldogs outscored Model 35-23 in the second half to secure their third straight win.
"For some reason they give us more problems than a math book, but we figured it out and played a really nice game," Burgin coach Keith Monson said. "I was proud of the effort, because that's a hard place to play."
Monson said free-throw shooting made the difference for Burgin (14-10), which was 24-for-33 at the line.
"They play real aggressive and foul a lot, and we usually shoot a lot of free throws," he said.
Burgin shot 39.5 percent (17-for-43) from the field and was 3-for-11 from 3-pint range.
Taylor Bottoms had 14 points and Andrea Warner had 13 for the Lady Bulldogs. Clara Sanders had a team-high five assists, while Stephanie Stewart had seven of the team's 24 rebounds and three assists.
