LIBERTY - The Casey County Board of Education voted Thursday evening to accept the amended facilities plan that would consolidate three schools and build a new one on Ky. 70 West or U.S. 127 South.
Dale Wilson, director of pupil personnel for the district, said this means the project will proceed to the next stage.
"Now we submit the plan to the state and wait for their approval," he said. "This means the project is moving forward."
The plan would close Douglas, Phelps and Phillips elementaries while building one new one. Liberty Elementary School will recieve major renovations.
