In reference to Ms. Hamilton's letter in the paper, I don't agree that it is discrimination to stand for what is right.
Throughout the ages, society has tried to change their laws to fit the times, but we must understand that marriage is not just society's law. It is God's law that marriage should be ordained between a man and a woman and that children have the right to be reared in a family where that marriage is properly observed.
That does not give us the right to be disrespectful to any individual, because we are also taught that one of God's greatest laws was to love one another as God loves us. But we must understand that we are not allowed to change that law which is eternal, and we must do all that we can to protect the sanctity of true marriage. I know that there will be many studies that say many things, but that does not change the fact that true joy and happiness can only come when we keep the commandments of the one who created us.
