Trial delayed

in Hays' shooting

William David Miller's Indiana trial for attempted murder of Gravel Switch drug kingpin Mike Hays has been postponed until at least June.

Miller, of Lancaster, is set to be sentenced Feb. 26 in U.S. District Court, along with Hays and members of both their families who pleaded guilty to drug conspiracy charges.

Lincoln upgrades

its 911 system

The sing-song phone number hasn't changed, but 911 dispatchers' methods for providing assistance to Lincoln County callers received a facelift Tuesday with the help of a $96 million homeland security program.


An updated computer system was installed and brought on line in the Main Street emergency dispatch center, complete with thin, flat-screen monitors, new mapping technology, and a more streamlined program menu that will keep window clutter to a minimum.
