I would like to comment on the letter that was in a recent paper about a smoke-free town.
I agree that making the cost of cigarettes more expensive will not keep the younger generation from smoking. If they are going to smoke, they are going to find a way somehow, even if it means they start breaking in to people's homes or places of buisness to steal from someone who has paid an expensive price. Smoking is one's choice.
Although it's been said that secondhand smoke is more dangerous than those who smoke, I personally don't believe that to be true. I think a lot of that stuff is made up for people to believe just as an excuse to raise the price on cigarettes. I'm sure the tobacco farmers won't get a raise in price of their crops just because of cigarette prices being raised.
