A single-engine Cessna 182 airplane landed safely Sunday night at Danville-Boyle County Airport after it had experienced alternator problems.
Shane Wilson of Danville Aviation said this morning that Jason Kilby of Danville, the Cessna's pilot, radioed about 9 p.m. that the plane's alternator was malfunctioning.
Kilby was able to land the plane at the airport's Stuart Powell Field about 9:30 p.m., said Wilson, adding there was no damage to the plane or injury to Kilby.
Fire trucks from the Danville and Boyle County fire departments had been called to the airport as a precaution.
Kilby was on a return trip to Danville from Tennessee.
